True innovation born from experience

BI.MAG Automatic Warehouses

BI.MAG Automatic Warehouses

The containers can be constructed in various ways: mesh containers for storing profiles and long materials in general, sheet metal containers for protecting materials, or closed-bottom boxes for storing scraps, spare parts, or accessory boxes. The drawers are sized and installed in the machine by our technical department based on the end customer's requirements. BI.MAG automated warehouses offer customized solutions for storing long materials such as pipes, profiles, and bars, as well as automated warehouse solutions for pallets, molds, semi-finished products, heavy accessories, hydraulic and mechanical components.
Ciampalini also builds outdoor warehouses, maximizing the use of available space, reaching heights of over 20 meters. An outdoor warehouse also allows for optimal space optimization and minimizes the amount of material clutter within the workplace. Our company can provide turnkey self-supporting structures complete with insulated panels.

The solution for storing long materials

The solution for storing long materials

BI.MAG automatic drawer warehouses are the ideal system for vertically storing steel bars and sections in lengths of 3 m, 6 m, and 12 m, heavy accessories, semi-finished products, components, molds, and long materials in general. The load capacity per unit ranges from a minimum of 5,000 kg to a maximum of 6,000 kg. BI.MAG warehouses are a practical and economical solution, suitable for both production and commercial distribution. They are often installed next to a cutting machine to deliver the material directly to the working position. BI.MAG warehouses can be customized to meet any specific storage and handling needs for bars and long materials.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF OUR BI.MAG

Structure
The BI.MAG Automatic Warehouses are constructed of steel and are appropriately sized. The trays are arranged in two, four, or more "towers" with a shuttle that picks up the selected tray and transports it to the loading/unloading bay. The BI.MAG. warehouse can have one or more loading/unloading bays, with exits at the front or side of the machine.
Drawer dimensions and measurements (UDC)
  • The drawers are sized and inserted into the machine by our technical office based on the end customer's requests.
  • Maximum drawer length: 15 m
  • Load capacity per drawer (UDC)
  • Minimum load capacity per drawer: 500 kg
  • Maximum load capacity per drawer: 3000/5000 kg
  • Standard drawer for aluminum profiles: 750/1000 kg
  • Standard drawer for ferrous materials: 3000 kg
  • Some accessories supplied with BI.MAG warehouses
  • Cableways with linear and transverse motion hoists for handling and loading/unloading profile bundles to be attached to the warehouse itself.
  • Elevators with adjustable push-button-controlled arms to be attached under the container in the exit position. The elevator lifts the material and brings it above the container level for feeding the cutting centers or for loading by forklift or overhead crane.
  • Roller conveyors at the front or sides of the warehouse for handling profiles in bundles or single bars.
  • Load cells with display for instant weighing of the material in each individual container.
  • “Retractable” motorized trolleys for the drawer exit both laterally and frontally.
  • Hydraulic lift to facilitate the loading and unloading of heavy bundles using a forklift.
  • Warehouse management software

The standard BI.MAG. control consists of a numeric keypad where the operator selects the required container number, which then moves to the loading/unloading position. The average container changeover time is 80 seconds. The keypad also adjusts the parameters that affect the warehouse PLC.

The WMS software developed by CIAMPALINI is a monitoring system for supervising and networking one or more BI.MAG systems. The BI.MAG automated warehouse can be managed via a PC, from which you can search for items in containers, view and print the quantities of material contained in each container or in the warehouse. This allows for a rapid inventory that is always updated and displayed in real time. Our software can be extended and customized according to the individual user's needs.
